Mrs. Stoms, I will always remember you sitting on the couch with your headphones on listening to TV.  You always thought I was "wacky" in a loving way.  I am sorry that we never took you out at 3am to see the people eating breakfast after a night of partying on a Friday night.  You always thought no one would be out at that time.  I loved you and will miss you.  I also will miss that great  Christmas danish ring you made for the holiday.  God Bless you Mrs. Stoms.

Before Aunt Betty (and Aunt Peggy) had any children they took me under their wing and away from a difficult childhood whenever they could. I clearly remember 4th of July in Woodlynne and other good times with both of them. Betty had a beautiful singing voice and sang solo with a group. Both of their husbands were away at war and the sisters were very close. They both were very kind to me.

Mom was always there, when we woke up, went to school, out to play or at dinner time and bed time.  Girl Scouts, Sunday School, room mother, even when she had to scrub the desks in a cold, damp school room when the school burned.  
She was my Mom, teacher, best friend.  As Kathy said, she was not a hugger, but we got a few in and we ignored the face she would make.  She tolerated our pets.  Our cat knew Mom wasn't interested in her, so Mom was one of the only people the cat would stay near.  Our poodles were another thing.  When we would take day trips, Holly would always sit on Mom's lap.  Mom would pat the top of Holly's head, and give her TicTacs (the dog really had bad breath!)  She put up with Chelsea, but the last few years, Chelsea got underfoot too much.  We had to be careful.  
My friends knew and loved her.  Do you remember Mom whistling?  One of my friends knew Mom was nearby in Boscovs because she heard her whistling.  
There is so much more to say, but space does not allow.  
She was God's child, Dad's wife and our Mother and friend.  She will be greatly missed.  ILY Mom

Well, she wasn't a hugger, but she always made me feel secure and loved. She brought me up in the ways of the Lord and I hope that I will always be as steadfast in my faith as Mom was.

In recent years, she taught me a great lesson...how to grow old gracefully.  Thanks Mom.

Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you.  Although I dearly wish I could share in the celebration of Aunt Betty's life on October 16, I will already have relocated to Montana. I will take a moment to say a prayer and remember happy times on the day of the service.  I feel so blessed to have been able to spend the afternoon with her while I was here in Virginia with Eileen.  I will carry that memory with me forever.  Take care of each other.
