William Michael Amick “Mike”, 74, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at the Baptist Reynolds Trinity House in Collierville, TN. He leaves his wife of 52 years, Pamela Lee Amick; his son, William Michael Amick Jr and his wife Allison; his daughters, Lee Paige Amick and Suzanne Michelle Amick; and six grandchildren. Mike was born in Panama City, FL, the son of John Wallace and Francis Louise Amick and is survived by his two older brothers: Jack and Fred; and his younger sister, Carol McDougal. Mike graduated from North Carolina State University in 1962 and worked his entire career as part of the International Paper family. Mike and Pam have been living in the Memphis area since 1998 where they are active in the community and their church, The Orchard. Mike’s favorite verse was from The Bible, in the New Testament Gospel of John, chapter three, verse sixteen: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” These words, spoken by Jesus, are the expression of the greatest gift and promise ever bestowed: a promise available to all, a promise that was the foundation for Mike’s strength and hope. His sincerest desire and prayer is that all would come to the saving knowledge contained in this promise from Christ. Visitation will held at First Baptist Collierville Church located at 830 New Byhalia Rd in Collierville, TN from 11am–1pm on Monday, March 23, 2015 followed by a celebration service from 1pm–2pm. (Arrangements by Collierville Funeral Home.) Please come and join the family as we remember Mike. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be sent to Love Worth Finding Ministries, P.O. Box 38300, Memphis, TN 38183 or to The Jesus Film Project, P.O. Box 628222, Orlando, FL 32862.
