Warren M. Hodges, 94, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on July 27, 2018. Warren's life was completely centered on his Lord, his family, and his country. He was a faithful prayer warrior and loved to read his Bible. He was a beloved, long time member of Providence Baptist Church and a true example of what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
Warren leaves behind his wife and great love of 65 years, Lorraine. Their two hearts beat as one. He is also survived by his daughter Pam Trim (Tony) of Memphis, TN and his son Randel Hodges (Ann) of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, who called him "Papaw," Vanessa Brannon (Jason), Nathan Hodges, William Hodges, and Sarah Hodges and two great-grandchildren, Addie and Jack, who called him "Poppy." His family always saw his great love for them in both his words and his deeds.
Warren served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II and Korea, and he retired from the U. S. Air Force in 1963 after serving at the beginning of the Vietnam War. He was fiercely patriotic and proud to be a member of the "Greatest Generation."
A memorial service will be held at Providence Baptist Church, 4351 North Germantown Road in Bartlett, TN at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 1. The family will have a private burial with full military honors at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, lasting memorials may be made to Baptist Reynolds Hospice House.
