Raymond Martin Wiseman, 94, of Collierville, passed from this life September 15th at his home. He was born July 8, 1919 in Eads to the late Grover Cleveland Martin and Fannie Bell Vandergriff Wiseman. He graduated from the Shelby County Public School system in 1937 and played football for Germantown H.S. He was a decorated soldier in the U.S.Army during WWII in the 84th Inf. “Rail Splitters” Div., 335 Inf., Co. D. serving as S/Sgt. in the European Theatre. He married Iola Besherse, April 27, 1946 and she preceded him in death August 30, 1999 after 53 years of marriage. Mr. Wiseman was a retired Foreman with Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. after 42 years. He was a founding member of Collierville church of Christ. He is survived by a daughter, Ann White, two sons, Joe Hylander (Pat) and Martin Wiseman (Jane), 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Memorials can be made to the Collierville church of Christ Library Fund, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Disabled American Veterans.
