Patrick Lewis Taylor, 64, of Collierville, TN passed away peacefully from brain cancer on Monday, February 19th, 2024. He was born August 31, 1959 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was predeceased by his parents, Adarian Lewis Taylor and Katie Louise Hurst Taylor.
He recently retired from the Internal Revenue Service after stints in Jacksonville, Cincinnati, and Memphis. He had previously worked in North Florida for various entertainment-focused periodicals and WEXI radio. He also worked as a school teacher in Savannah, GA and Memphis, TN.
He graduated from Jacksonville University and Armstrong State University. In his spare time, he loved spending time with his extended family, traveling in the US, and wandering around foreign cities. He also enjoyed trivia, history, and languages. He was an avid disc golf enthusiast and music aficionado (especially southern rock). He was fond of pranks and practical jokes with his own personal sense of humor: you could never be sure if he was serious, and he liked it that way.
He is survived by the love of his life, Norie; son Andrew (Kirsten) of New York, NY; daughter Kimberly (Clark) of Memphis, TN; one grandson; and a second grandchild on the way.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Mayo Baptist Church with Rev. Blake Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Mayo, FL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, starting at 10:00 AM also at Mayo Baptist Church.
Arrangements are under the care of Collierville Funeral Home of Collierville, TN and Daniels Funeral Homes and Crematory of Live Oak, FL.
