Michael John Meindl, owner of Paradigm Business Images, LLC, passed away on November 30, 2017, following a brief illness. He was the son of Max and Kathleen (Sowell) Meindl, of West Bend, Wisconsin. Born on December 9, 1967, Michael would have been 50 on his upcoming birthday.
A devoted family man, most of his activities and interests revolved around his wife, Lisa, and daughter, Grace, as well as his parents and extended family in Wisconsin. Michael cared about his team at Paradigm and many of his customers as if they were also part of his family. He seldom forgot a birthday, special occasion or anniversary.
Michael met his wife, Lisa, in Abilene, Texas while they were both working in collegiate housing management and they were married in 1995. Michael began his specialty and promotions company – Paradigm Business Images, LLC – in 2002. The couple moved several times to accommodate Lisa’s career which brought them to Memphis in 2010.
With his positive attitude, professionalism and genuine desire to serve, Michael loved his community, and helping his clients solve problems and source their promotional items. He was a very active member of the Collierville Chamber of Commerce, where he served on the Board of Directors, the Olive Branch Chamber of Commerce, the Apartment Association of Greater Memphis, and Hope Presbyterian Church where he and his family often volunteered through the Scrubs team.
Growing up in Wisconsin, Michael was a life-long Green Bay Packer fan. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay, but because of his wife’s and daughter’s attendance at Kansas State University, he also rooted for K-State. Michael even received a “K-Stater By Choice” pin. He regularly attended football watch parties for both the Packers and Wildcats.
A viola player and music lover, Michael was an ardent supporter of the arts and many other non-profit organizations in our community. Lisa and Grace request that any memorial donations be sent to the New Day Children’s Theatre in his honor. http://newdaytheatre.org/support-us/donate-today/
His father preceded him in death, but Michael is survived by his mother, Kathleen (Sowell) Meindl, his wife, Lisa, and his daughter, Grace, and his siblings: Mark Meindl (Sandra) of West Bend, Wisconsin; Lisa Heltemes (Scott) of Campbellsport, Wisconsin; and Laura (Brian) Brown of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; and other extended family members, as well as beloved friends, Roger and Sue McNeese and Kris Schraeder.
Visitation will be held at Collierville Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 7. A second visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, from noon until 2 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will take place in Wisconsin.
