The Tilghman’s resided in Kingsport, Tennessee for most of their 60-year marriage, where they enjoyed the surrounding Appalachian countryside whether boating, hunting, exploring mountain roads, or watching backyard wildlife. Mary Anne was an exceptional homemaker and delighted in teaching the art of baking and pastry making to her family. She was an accomplished seamstress, having made her own wedding dress and many garments for her family. She gave her time as a volunteer with Cassidy United Methodist Church, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, PTA, and the Power Squadron. After Ralph’s passing, she returned to West Tennessee, residing with her daughter and son-in-law in Germantown and at nearby Apple Grove Senior Living. The family will hold a service of remembrance at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial gifts to the Dementia Society of America and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
