Kelsey Ann Jones Brooks passed away unexpectedly at her home April 19. A lifelong resident of her beloved hometown Collierville, she was born June 3, 1928. Devoted to her family, she shared more than 60 years with husband Tom as they worked side by side in the family business, Brooks Pharmacy originally located on the historic town square in downtown Collierville. She was the mother of two daughters she greatly cherished, Watty Brooks Hall (Chris) of Collierville and Knoxville and younger daughter Amy Franklin Brooks who suffered from a difficult diabetes condition and was tenderly cared for by her Mother until Amy’s death in November, 2000. Kelsey’s unceasing love for Tom, Amy, Watty and Chris as well as her extended family was always the source of great joy and peace which she proudly shared with everyone. A Collierville High School graduate, she received a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 1951 where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Kelsey took much pleasure in spending time at Ingleside Farm, a part of her family for nearly 100 years and delighted in working in various activities involving her daughters, often serving in leadership roles. Considered to be a ‘go to’ person when something needed to get done, Kelsey was a member of the Collierville Contemporary Club and received much enjoyment in being a part of the Wednesday Bridge Club. With an unquestioning faith in Jesus Christ, she was ever faithful in daily Scriptural studies and was a steadfast, lifelong member of Collierville United Methodist Church. Kelsey was blessed with an abundance of treasured family and friends, especially her long-faithful friend Della Holton. Kelsey will be sorely missed by her constant companion and four-legged best friend, Abby. While her passing brings much sorrow, there is comfort in knowing she is once again with departed loved ones, especially Amy. Visitation is Sunday, April 22, 5:00 pm. Sanctuary on the Square in Collierville. Funeral services will be 3pm, Monday at Collierville United Methodist Church, 454 West Poplar Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Amy Franklin Brooks Memorial Fund of the Mayo Clinic, 200 First Street Southwest, Rochester, Minnesota 55902-9817 or to Collierville United Methodist Church, 454 W. Poplar, Collierville, 38017. Online condolences may be made at www.ColliervilleFuneral.com
