He is survived by his son, Collin David Coopwood; father, Thomas David Coopwood, III (Yvonne Savage); mother, Deborah Woodfin Coopwood Scola; stepfather, John Scola, brothers: Christopher Seth Coopwood, Johnathan and Ben Scola and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces and friends that were like family.
Joshua was born at Baptist Hospital in Memphis on August 17, 1983. He grew up in Marion, Arkansas where he attended Marion Schools and Marion United Methodist Church. He played many sports, baseball and football but loved the more daring sports such as roller blades and spent endless time at the skate parks in Memphis. He attended the University of Memphis and Arkansas State University for a time. He was Owner-Operator at A Cut Above Paint, and Long-Term Case Manager at Vertava. His primary passion was counseling and doing life coaching for others. He moved on to find so many interests it is hard to list them all; but above all he enjoyed nature at its best. He participated in kayaking, river rafting, boating, fishing, camping, sleeping on the beach and anything related to the great outdoors. As he became older, he developed a passion for the Native American customs and their meaning. He was a man of simple tastes and lived his life accordingly. He loved others from all walks of life and influenced many during his time on this Earth. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was loved by many and will be missed beyond measure.
There will be a celebration of his life on Sunday, July 24th at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 8 Methodist Road in Mt. Pleasant (Holly Springs), Mississippi. Please no sadness allowed, only positive vibes as the family must be strong for this celebration!
We invite anyone that was touched by Joshua in any way to come and share those “good feeling stories” with us on Sunday. It will be broadcast via Facebook Live for those who are out of town and unable to attend. We welcome everyone to help us remember Joshua while we had him on this earth. He has been called home.
