John Gerard Jardine, 87, passed away February 1, 2023 at his home in Collierville, Tennessee. Mr. Jardine was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Andrew Jardine and Beatrice Kelly Jardine. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a retiree from the Federal Government, Department of the Navy and he also served as the coordinator for the apprenticeship program for the Commonwealth of Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from LaSalle University and a Master of Science in Administration from George Washington University. He was a sports fan of all Washington and Philadelphia teams, and an avid Irish music and dance enthusiast. Mr. Jardine enjoyed the beach, traveling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Andrew “Buck” Jardine.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Maryann Jardine; three daughters, Mary Urrutia (Ernest), Julie Tedford (Randy) and Jennifer Jardine (Scott Hubiak); three grandchildren, Shannon, Philip, and Dominic Urrutia; sister, Monica Lange (Walter) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023 beginning at 10 a.m., at The Church of the Incarnation, 360 Bray Station Road, Collierville, Tennessee. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 a.m. Interment services will be held February 28th at 1 p.m. in the Rotunda at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene, Memphis, Tennessee 38125.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Mr. Jardine may be offered to the Alzheimer’s Association or to the Tennessee Right to Life Organization.
