Jan was born on February 16, 1955 in Jackson, Tennessee, last of the three children born to the late Elmer & Nellie Hale. She graduated from Treadwell High School Class of 1972. She attended Draughon's Business College where she graduated with a degree in Fashion and Merchandising. She was employed as an Employee Benefits Manager in the Memphis area for many years before her retirement 3 years ago.
Along with her parents Jan was preceded in death by her brothers Wayne & Eddie Hale.
Mrs. Norvell is survived by her husband of 37 years, Jim Norvell; daughters Melissa (Kevin) Smith of Arlington, TN and Joanna Norvell of Littleton, Colorado; and her two granddaughters Megan and Macie Smith of Arlington.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday, October 5th from noon until funeral services begin at two o'clock in the afternoon all at Collierville Funeral Home, 534 W. Poplar Avenue, Collierville, TN 380178. Bro. Tommy Vinson will lead all of the days services including the graveside to follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
Jan loved flowers. However, if you prefer an alternate way to celebrate Jan’s life, donations can be made in her honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
