Helen Eileen Griffith Barrett, age 92 passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on June 6, 1931, she was the daughter of Elva and Robert Griffith. Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Barrett; her parents; her brothers Robert Griffith Jr., James Griffith, Charles Griffith, and her sister, Dorothy Griffith.
Helen leaves her 3 children: Sharon Patterson, Phyllis O’Bryan, and Robert Barrett (Ja’na); her 3 grandchildren: Shari Jones (Brandon), Stephen Barrett (Sophie), and Drew Barrett (Caroline); and her 3 great-grandchildren: Robbie Jones, Mylee Barrett, and River Barrett.
A graduate of Clara Barton High School in Baltimore, she was a hairdresser, a department store sales person, and a telephone operator for the City of Baltimore, In 1966, she moved to Germantown, Tennessee with her husband and 3 children. She enjoyed sewing, cross-stitch, and ceramics. She loved to shop. Her life centered around her family, and she will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m., June 29, 2024 with a service at 2:00 p.m. at the Collierville Funeral Home, 3863 Bailey Station Road in Collierville, Tennessee. Her final resting place will be in Baltimore, Maryland.
