George Nelson Bennett Jr.

George Nelson Bennett, Jr., age 81 of Collierville, TN, passed from this life on Monday, November 25, 2024. He was born December 26, 1942 in Bessemer, AL to the late George and Lillie Norwood Bennett. George was retired from the US Navy after 26 years of service.

He was married to Denese Williams Bennett for 42 years and was a member of Bethany Christian Church in Collierville and past president and active member of the Collierville Masonic Lodge as well as the Collierville VFW.

George is survived by his wife; Denese, son; Blake, brothers; Mick and Mike Bennett, his god-daughter; Brittaney Fryman and several dearly loved nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his two sisters and two brothers.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Collierville Masonic Lodge.
