Ewing Talmadge "E.T." Hays

Ewing Talmadge “E. T.” Hays, of Rossville, went home to be with his Lord, Tuesday, November 26th at the age of 69. Mr. Hays was born June 21, 1944 in Princeton, KY to the late Eugene Young and Naomi Scott Hays. A graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and Murray State University. He served in the U.S. Army, stationed at 3rd Army Headquarters in Atlanta, GA and was a retired sales manager with General Electric after 25 years. Mr. Hays was a member of Collierville First Baptist Church, served as a Sunday School Teacher, Scout Leader, Baseball Coach, R A Leader and a member of the Elfin Society. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Elaine Sowell Hays, a daughter, Elizabeth E. Cawthon (Jonathan), two sons, Eugene Thomas Hays (Virginia), Robert Scott Hays (Candice), a sister, Doris Marie Tinsley, a brother, John Richard Hays and two granddaughters, Naomi E. and Mariah K. Hays. The family will receive friends with a reception, Sunday, 4pm – 7pm at the Collierville Funeral Home. A service celebrating his life will be Monday, 10am in the T. Carl Rutledge Memorial Chapel of Collierville Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Magnolia Cemetery.
