Edgar Gene Morton

Edgar Gene Morton, 83, died at his Memphis home on Tuesday morning, February 8. Gene had a long and distinguished career in agricultural sales and was a lifetime member and Elder Emeritus of Collierville Christian Church. Gene was a graduate of Collierville High School and obtained a BS from the School of Agriculture from Mississippi State University. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Marilyn and his three children Beverly Hadley Simmons (Johnny), Karen Morton Kruse, and Michael E. Morton (Sandy). He also leaves three granddaughters Jennifer Morton, Abby Morton, and Garland Kruse. Visitation will be held Thursday February 10, 2011 from 5:00-7:00 at the Collierville Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, February 11, at 11:00 at Collierville Christian Church, and burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery in Collierville. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the Collierville Christian Church Endowment c/o the church or the charity of choice.
