DAVID EDWARD RATZLAFF, 74, died February 23, 2013. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 28 and Services will follow on Friday, March 1 at 2 p.m., all at the Collierville funeral Home in Collierville, TN. David will be laid to rest at Bethany Christian Church Cemetery in Eads, TN. David was born in Kansas City, MO in 1938. He moved to Wayne, NE as a young boy and started a long journey toward a devotion and service to God. Of all the different things he did in life, the one constant was preaching and teaching the word. He ministered to churches in Neligh, NE and Hiawatha, KS, followed by going on the road as an evangelist with his group, the Kordsmen. He eventually came to Memphis, TN to work for the Blackwood Brothers Quartet, where he lived the rest of his life. As many would attest, he was a gifted teacher who never let an opportunity pass to share God’s love and truth. A man who truly touched thousands of lives. He was a graduate of Nebraska Christian College and obtained his Master’s of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary. While in Memphis, he preached at Bethany Christian Church in Eads, TN and Kirks Christian Church in Collierville, TN. He was working for Memphis Funeral Home when he passed on to be with the Lord. “Well done, good and faithful servant...” Matthew 25:2. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shiela, two sons, Perry Ratzlaff (Barb) and Kevin Ratzlaff (Sheri); a daughter, Kalista Britt; three grandchildren, Casey, David and Brittany (Chase); three great-grandchildren; a sister, Bonnie and brother, Marvin.
