A Graveside Service will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park on Monday, April 4, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
Sam was born on April 23, 1920, in Independence Iowa, to Etolia and Samuel St. Clair. After graduating from high school in San Antonio, he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1938. After the Air Force, he married his grade school sweetheart from Independence, Donna Ruth Christiansen on August, 6, 1943, in Fort Worth; they were married 69 years until Donna's death in 2013. Sam started working for American Airlines in the 40's as a mechanic; and then after moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma in the early 60's, he was a mechanic instructor. After moving back to Fort Worth in 1965, he was a Ground School Training Flight Academy instructor for American, where he taught his favorite planes, Boeing 747 and DC10. He was also the first president of the AA Ground School Instructor's Union. Sam was also a member of the Three Diamond Society at AA. He worked at American for a total of 35 years. After retirement, he and Donna enjoyed traveling and other activities. He continued with his love of mechanics by working on various televisions, radios, and electronic devices.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his three sisters.
