Robert D Folkers “Bob”, of Fort Worth, TX, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 in Fort Worth, Texas. He will always be remembered as a husband who dearly loved his wife Troy of 61 years, a proud dad who always believed in and loved his children Tony and Deena; he was loved as an uncle, Pa-Paw, Pe-Paw, brother-in-law and friend to all that knew and loved him. He was born on December 1, 1929 in Wichita, KS to Ted and Faith Olive Folkers.
Bob enlisted in the Air Force as a very young man. He went on to spend 20 years serving his country before retiring and moving on to a civilian life with his family. Following this, Bob worked as a Police Officer in Amarillo, TX for a short time, and then moved to Fort Worth where he worked in the banking industry for a brief time. By then he was able to get back into the aircraft industry that had been a part of his life for 20 years. He joined Lockheed and again worked 20 years for his 2nd and final retirement.
Bob is survived by 2 children; Tony and his wife Sindi of Midlothian, TX and Deena and her husband Clayton (Dee) of Fort Worth TX, 9 granddaughters, 4 grandson-in-laws, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his spouse, Troy Folkers; father, Ted Folkers; mother, Faith Olive Folkers; step mother, Ruby Folkers; sisters, Jo, Donna and Louise and brother Ted Jr.
The visitation will be held from 9:00-9:30 AM on Friday, February 2nd 2018 at the funeral home. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 2nd, 2018 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park with Military Honors.
