Robert (“Bob”) Anthony Farrell, 64 years old, passed away July 27th at Brookdale-Richland Hills in Texas. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 16, 1959. His family lived in a few states before settling in Texas in 1971. He worked as a General Manager at Grainger for over twenty years and then as a Product Sales Manager for Industrial and Safety Products at Motion Industries before retiring. His work took him and his family to Alabama and Florida, but they returned to Texas later in his career.
Bob married Sherrie Gail Stahn in March 1979. He is survived by Sherrie, their daughter Sarah Farrell, his mother Mary Ann Farrell, and his father-in-law George Stahn. He also leaves behind two brothers, Timothy (Becky) and Douglas (Michelle) Farrell, as well as his sister Judith (the late Sam) Hicks, nieces, nephews, and beloved extended family. He is preceded in death by his father Jerome Farrell.
At his core, Bob believed in hard work, integrity, and responsibility, which encompassed every aspect of his life. As a husband and father, his ultimate goal was to protect and provide. To the very end, his worry related to the security of the women he loved, and he would often say, “I’m sorry,” for being the one who would have to leave them first. His fear of death was nothing in comparison to the fear of leaving them without his protection—a testament to the way he lived his life. He loved fully and deeply. Those who were lucky enough to know Bob knew him as a dependable man: He was the first to offer help to those who needed it, and he did so without asking for anything in return. When a problem arose, he did not wait for others to take care of the situation. He was a decisive, true leader.
Bob was a man who loved to see new things and experience great adventures, but he was also someone who found happiness in the simple things. A big personality trait of Bob’s was his sense of humor: He was always ready with a witty comment or joke—a trait passed down to him by his father. Bob laughed the most after coming home from a round of golf and eating dinner with his family. He seemed just as happy at home as he did while traveling around the country. As long as his loved ones were beside him, he was content. Because he found joy in these things, he didn’t regret any missed accomplishments. Bob found a good life in being grateful for the one he was given.
