Robert was born Aug. 21, 1949, in New York, N.Y. He grew up primarily in Florida, where he played in the marching band in high school before graduating in 1967. He graduated from Florida State University in 1971 with a degree in political science and later became a certified public accountant. Bob was a financial wizard who had a way with numbers. He had a photographic memory and quick wit and was an expert at crossword puzzles and word games. Robert and Norma were married Oct. 9, 1976, and they raised four children during their 38 years together. He was devoted to his family, and in addition to being the patriarch of his immediate family, he also cared for his parents and brother, Harry.
Bob worked as a tax analyst at Exxon for nearly 30 years and stayed active after he retired. He had a knack for gardening, maintaining his lawn and flowers and growing vegetables. He also loved sports, especially the Florida State Seminoles, Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. Bob enjoyed regular family vacations to St. George Island and traveling with Norma, most recently to London and the British Isles. He had many friends and regularly played poker and softball, where he was a key player although he was so modest only his team would know. He always did the right thing and was willing to help anyone in need, values that he instilled in his children. Bob was taken from us too soon and will be greatly missed. We love you, Dad.
