Norman Everett Cook, Jr, age 87, of Grapevine, TX, passed away on November 22, 2023. He was born on October 28, 1936, to the late Norman Everett Cook and Ouita Cynthia Garrison Cook. Norman was preceded in death by his loving wife, Julia Patricia Johnson Cook.
Norman was a quiet but witty individual who had a passion for music. He enjoyed singing in the church choir and had a deep appreciation for the arts. In his free time, Norman would often watch his two favorite football teams, the Dallas Cowboys and the University of Texas Longhorns. He was also an avid photographer and enjoyed playing tennis. Norman had a keen interest in live theater and would frequently attend Vocal Majority concerts.
Professionally, Norman worked as an electrical engineer for General Dynamics, which later became Lockheed Martin. He dedicated his career to this field and made significant contributions in his role.
Norman was a devout member of the First Baptist Church of Euless, which is now known as CrossCity Church. His faith played an important role in his life, and he found solace and community within his place of worship.
Norman leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his sons, Jerry Cook [Cindy], Gary Cook [Stacy], and David Cook [Shoshana]. He is also survived by his brothers, L Michael "Mike" Cook [Diane] and John Cook [Jean]. Norman was adored by his grandchildren, Allison, Lauren [TJ], Amanda [Matt], Amy "Owyn", Cosette, and Andy, as well as his great-grandsons, Hudson and Oliver.
A funeral service to honor Norman's life will be held on December 1, 2023, at 10am at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial in Colleyville, TX. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place on November 30th from 5-7pm at the same location. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Bluebonnet Hills Memorial. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation, in Norman's name, to the American Diabetes Association.
Norman Everett Cook will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His gentle nature, quick wit, and passion for life will forever be remembered.
