Norma Jean Haines, known to her family as Mom, Granny Grouch, Granny, and Darlin, age 83, passed away on January 7, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born on June 7, 1940, in Ranger, Texas, to Carl and Alta Hill. Norma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Haines, her parents, her brother Harold Hill, sister-in-law Dorothy Hill Ellington, and son-in-law Kenney Beard.
Norma leaves behind a loving family, including her children: James Haines and his wife Terry, Carla Beard, Cindy Haines, and Joseph Haines and his wife Wendy. She also had the joy of being a grandmother to 18 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 25 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. Norma is also survived by her nieces and nephew.
Norma had a fulfilling career, working at Chem Search for many years. She later retired from her role as a bus driver for Durham School Services in the Northwest ISD school system. Norma took great pride in safely transporting children to and from school.
In her free time, Norma enjoyed playing games on her computer and watching her great-grandchildren play. She found joy in their laughter and cherished every moment spent with them.
A visitation for Norma will be held at Bluebonnet Funeral Home & Memorial Park, located in Colleyville, Texas. Calling hours will be held from 6 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, January 10th. The funeral service will take place at First Baptist Church Fort Worth at 2 pm on January 11th, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Norma's life and honor her memory.
