Maurice Kolodetsky "Kolly" age 90 of Bedford Texas passed away May 13th 2022. Beloved and Kind Husband, Father and Grandfather. He was born in Galveston Texas on July 23rd 1931 to Dave and Katy Kolodetsky being the only child
Maurice attended the University of Texas twice receiving a degree in Business and a BS in Pharmacy. He was a veteran of the United States Army while serving he met the "love of his life" Barbara Jean Barnes. They married on October 2nd 1955 and were married for 50 years.
Maurice was a beloved Pharmacist for 50 years... owner of Riverside Rexall Drug, Fort Worth. After selling, his customers followed him over to Kmart Pharmacy in Hurst where he worked for 17 years. He was a member of Texas Pharmacy Association and Tarrant County Pharmacy Association.
Maurice had a passion for entertaining on Sundays, cooking steaks on the grill, swimming , watching the Cowboys in the '70s and '80s. He always put his family first, Dad was a very very hard worker a lifetime "Texas Longhorn Fan" Hook'em and attended numerous Cotton Bowl games....Served as President of the Peewee Football Association of HEB in the seventies
Maurice is preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife Barbara mother-in-law Lucille and father-in-law Duward Bailey and oftentimes hilarious Uncle Bobby brother-in-law...
He is survived by daughter Sheryl Kolodetsky Frederick , son's Kenneth Kolodetsky, Bill and wife, Vickie Kolodetsky, Bryan and wife Jessica Kolodetsky; brother-in-law JD and Lin Barnes; grandchildren Kenna, Nicole, Ryan, Hallie and Cole; great-granddaughter's Ayden, Hunter and Lillian and nieces and nephews Susan, Linda and Bobby Jr. Barnes, Dustin and Sean Barnes
Funeral arrangements are as follows: visitation at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, Colleyville; Thursday, May 19th 5 to 7 p.m. Graveside service on Friday May 20th at 2 p.m. in the Garden of Peace. A Celebration of Life will follow at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home at 3 p.m.
