Marvin Powers of Euless, TX passed away on May 6, 2023. He was born in Texarkana, AR on December 29, 1925. He served honorably in the US 8th Air Force, 91st Bomb Group, 323 Squadron during WWII as a B-17 Flight Engineer and Top Turret Gunner. He also served as a Flight Engineer for the B-29 in the Korean War and as Strategic Air Command when stateside. Marvin flew in 30 missions during WWII, many in the “Nine-O-Nine” B-17 bomber. In July of 1943, he married the love of his life, Frances Morrow of Clarksville, TX. He enjoyed reading, watching mystery shows, classical music, cooking and spending time with family.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Frances, his daughter Sally Ann Powers and is survived by sons Gary Powers and Royce Powers; grandchildren Amanda Townsend, Bradley Powers, Nicholas Powers, Luci Justice, Kera Sayre, and Emily Williams, as well as many precious great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on May 17, 2023 at Bluebonnet Hills in Colleyville, TX. Family visitation will begin at 9:00 am followed by a graveside service at 10:00 am.
