Marjorie was a resident of Southlake. She was born May 15, 1922, in Etowah, Tenn., to Vera and Felix Abbott. She was married for 25 years to her seminary sweetheart, Harold Gillespie Basden. Following 13 years of widowhood, she married William Walthall Graves. They were married for 22 years. She was an active church leader, foreign missionary, and faithful Christian. Her family and the furtherance of God's work were her chief concerns. Marjorie's life was marked by prayer and selfless love.
She was preceded in death by two husbands; parents; and sister, Mary Abbott Sitton.
Survivors: Her daughter and her husband, Peggy and Lee Johnson of Hurst; her son and his wife, Paul and Denise Basden of Frisco; her stepdaughter, Sally Gerding of Louisville, Ky.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
