Lloyd "Smitty" Smith, 95, passed away Oct. 28, 2015. Funeral: 12:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 11:30 a.m. until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Lloyd was born on Oct. 12, 1920, in Martin City, MO. to Archie Smith and Nellie Hallissey Smith. Lloyd was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service, working at the Fairfax Plant in Kansas City, KS. Lloyd was a family man who loved baseball - he coached little league and was a fan of the Kansas City Royals. He has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Colleyville since 1982. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Smith; four brothers; and one sister. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Louise Roberts Smith; three children, Don Smith and wife, Connie, Cindy Jackson and husband, Dale and Mark Smith and wife, Teri; five grandchildren; Daryl Smith and wife, Cyndi, Darrin Smith and wife, Jill, Brian Jackson, Brenda Jackson and Aaron Smith; and five great-grandchildren.
