She will always be remembered as a beautiful loving mother and friend, to all that knew and loved her. She was born on January 16, 1928 in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Larry Jo was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma, but raised in Borger, Texas by her adopted mother and father. Her father was a very successful doctor and her mother a housewife. Mom, survived after the death of her husband, Wayne Worley, in 1970. She went on to earn a master’s degree in library science from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. She then worked and retired as a Librarian from the University of Dallas in Irving, Texas. Larry Jo retired at age 67 and lived another quarter century. The last five years of her life she lived at a retirement facility in North Richland Hills, Texas. While there she had many great and notable friends and had some of the best years of her life. She was a great mom and friend. Larry Jo, loved dogs, was an avid reader, watched lots of tennis on TV and had a memory like an Elephant. She was always up for a conversation of any type and loved going out for a great steak dinner, her favorite.
Larry Jo is survived by her daughter, Sallie Ann (Worley) Gatlin of Toledo, Ohio; eldest son, Jeffrey Wayne Worley of Happy Valley, Oregon; middle son, Thomas Warren Worley of Fort Worth, Texas and her youngest son, Lawrence Hansen Worley of Arlington, Texas. Larry Jo also is survived by ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, William Wayne Worley who died of military related illnesses in January of 1970.
The visitation will be held from 6 – 8 o’clock p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home funeral home. The Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
