Kevin David Burleson of (Fort Worth, TX), passed away on May 23, 2020. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, friend, neighbor, & colleague to all who knew and loved him. He was born on February 5, 1971 in Odessa, Texas, to David & Brenda Burleson.
Captain Burleson graduated from Clear Lake High School, Houston, Texas, where he completed flight ground school. He attended the San Jacinto College in Pasadena, Texas where he obtained his Associate of Applied Science, A.A.S. Degree and transferring to Central Texas College and University of Central Texas in Killeen, where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation & Aeronautical Science in 1994.
Kevin is survived by his wife, former flight attendant, Gracie Burleson, of Fort Worth, TX, his children Kirsten, Hayley, Isabella, & Maximilian, mother-in-law Yolanda Crosley and spouse Wendell Crosley. His parents David and Brenda Burleson; his sister and her husband Kristie & Dave Cocanougher, his niece, two nephews, and a host of extended family members and friends.
Kevin, flew for American Airlines, which was his dream since he was in elementary school. He loved the skies whether flying domestically or internationally. He would often speak about the site views that impressed and inspired him from the altitude. He particularly liked landing at home, DFW International Airport.
Kevin enjoyed nature, books, philosophy, finance, and his walks with or without the family. He loved simplicity and was not materialistic. He was kind, compassionate and empathized with the less fortunate. Everything around him will miss him. Everything around will remind us of him. We thank God for lending him to us.
Kevin was a practitioner of Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism with the SGI-USA lay Buddhist Organization. Kevin aligned with the organization’s goal of world peace through individual peace and happiness. Kevin was a very compassionate member.
The visitation will be held from 5 - 7 o’clock p.m. on 5/30 & 5/31;at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home.
