She was born in Fort Worth, TX on November 11, 1934. Joyce graduated from Fort Worth Technical High School in Fort Worth, Texas. She was married to Jack Parchman on June 15, 1952.
She spent many years as a housewife and mother. Then she had a career working in Christian organizations. She worked for James Robinson Bookstore, Colorado Baptist General Convention, Lifeway Baptist Bookstore, Washington State General Convention and finally National Association of Church Business Administrators.
She had a passion for reading, crocheting, and writing. She even wrote a children’s book that was published entitled My Brother Had a Birthday.
She loved serving her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through little things she had crocheted along with Scripture and encouraging newsletters. She loved mission trips and supporting missionaries.
She was predeceased by her mom and dad (Robert and Bernice Giffen), her husband and first-born son and gran son (Jack and Kenny and Nathan Parchman) and her two brothers (James and Robert Giffen).
She was survived by son and daughter in law Garry and Jo Parchman of Fort Worth, Texas; her daughter and son in law Luella and Ken Funderburg of Sherman, TX; daughter and son in law Janell and Steve Adams of Tampa, Florida. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and her sister and brother-in-law Doris and Roger Best of Inlet, NY, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 10 am at Bluebonnet Hills with visitation before at 9 am and burial following at 11 am.
Pallbearers will be Grant Garrard, Paul Giffen, Ronnie Giffen, Jason Schlitter, Nicholas and Patrick Adams
