From a young age, Jonathan embraced a world of imagination, believing himself to be Spider-Man, casting webs even on the doctor giving his little sister shots. He then ventured into the rugged world of Popeye, sleeping in a hammock with one eye open but a heart of gold. As time went on, he transformed into the determined Karate Kid and even Indiana Jones, using a bullwhip to wrangle his goats. Jonathan was a man of boundless imagination, passion, determination, intensity, love, and a voice that couldn't be silenced.
Yet, amidst his vibrant spirit, Jonathan was grounded in faith. Guided by his strong Christian beliefs, he found comfort and purpose in his devotion to Christ.
Jonathan "JT" Kirby, born in Austin, Texas, a devout Christian was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, and uncle who departed on September 3, 2023, in Euless, Texas, at the age of 47.
Jonathan's life was a testament to his profound dedication to his family. He leaves behind the love of his life, Sara, with whom he shared six remarkable children: Averie, Audrey, Joshua Werth, Rian Werth, Hayes, and Kennedy. He was a devoted son to his parents, Nathan and Cindi Kirby, and a cherished brother to Cassie Kirby and her husband, Allen Schwanke. He held a special place in his heart for his nephew, Luke Kirby Webster.
Throughout his life, Jonathan pursued knowledge with an insatiable thirst. He graduated as the president of his senior class at Leander High School and continued his educational journey at Texas Tech University, earning double bachelor's degrees in Agricultural Economics and Business.
Professionally, Jonathan left an indelible mark as a financial advisor, collaborating with reputable firms and nurturing lifelong friendships.
For Jonathan, nature was God's greatest artwork, and he reveled in its beauty while working outdoors at the ranch, with Sara and their children. It was their place of refuge and true solace during the weekends. They worked hard and shared many memorable bonding moments, counting out the days to make their dream come true of “The Ranch” being their permanent home throughout each generation.
Music was another cherished passion, and Jonathan shared his love for playing the guitar with family and friends. And who could forget his fervor for the Red Raiders? Weekends were devoted to watching his beloved team, “Go Tech Go!”
In celebration of Jonathan's life, a memorial service will take place at the Fellowship Church of Grapevine, Texas, on September 18, 2023, at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Fellowship Church - Allaso Ranch Camp and Retreat for the Children's Church Camp Fund to invite Christ into children’s lives. Bringing people to Christ was Jonathan’s truest passion and believed we all can play a part through stewardship.
