Johnny F. Eden, age 92, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024 in Dripping Springs, Texas. He was born in Arlington, Texas but grew up in Euless. He graduated from NTSU (now UNT) and went to work as a draftsman for Mobil Oil in Dallas.
Johnny married Janice Lorraine Line in 1954 and they made their home first in Bedford and then in Hurst. After time at Mobil Oil he decided to open his own business in Bedford, Graphic Art Reproductions. He retired after over 40 years of providing local businesses and churches with their printing needs along with MLS books for local realtors.
Johnny also served several terms on the HEB School Board and held many official positions, including President.
In his retirement he worked as a docent for the Texas Civil War Museum in Ft. Worth. Johnny was an avid collector of all things history which included his knowledge of every war both foreign and domestic and had an expansive collection of artifacts from the past. He loved to give anyone who would listen a history lesson (and even to those who didn’t!)
He is predeceased by his parents, John F. Eden and Hazel Faye Jernigan Eden; his sister, Hazel Himes; and his wife of over 65 years, Janice. He is survived by his daughter, Lorri Hall and husband, Claylan R. Hall of Rogers, AR, and son, CAPT. John (Gregory) Eden, USN (ret.) of Dripping Springs, TX; granddaughter Amanda L. Hall of Los Angeles, CA, granddaughter Christina R. Nelson and husband, Dr. Bradley G. Nelson, of Cave Springs, AR, and great-granddaughters, Maya Rae Nelson and Linley Jules Nelson and sister, Lavinia Scott.
