Jerrye Juanita Gee was born October 12th, 1932 in Fort Worth. She left this world on November 20th, 2023. Jerrye was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Hugh and daughter Stacia Stephens. She leaves behind two sons and their wives, Buddy and Jana, and Kirk and Michelle. Jerrye (affectionately known as Nanny) leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Jerrye was an only child and raised in the Handley area of East Fort Worth as Jerrye Juanita Gee. Both of her biological parents, Raymond D. Gee and Ethel Parker Gee, passed away from various illnesses by the time she was 3 1/2 years old. Jerrye was adopted by her grandparents, Lemuel and Ethel Parker. They raised Jerrye as their own. Walt Parker, who was her uncle prior to the adoption, became her brother. During Jerrye's teenage and adult years, Walt was a wonderful example of a brother who was also a friend and a mentor.
Upon graduating from Handley High School, Jerrye met Hugh on a blind date. They dated a couple of years and were married November 4th, 1951 in Cheyenne, Wyoming while Hugh was completing basic training in the Air Force. They were later stationed in Cirencester, England where their daughter Stacia Lei was born. When they returned back to the states, Jerrye and family moved back to the Fort Worth area and then to Big Spring, Texas to begin Hugh's career. Within the first year, they gave birth to son Hugh Jr. (known as Buddy). A few years later, they moved back to the metroplex to be closer to their families. Almost 5 1/2 years later, Jerrye gave birth to another son, Kirk, on her 30th birthday.
Jerrye had a wonderful career in Real Estate. Despite being one of the few Million Dollar agents back in the 80's, she felt her greatest fulfilling accomplishments was to help her children with purchasing their first homes. She credits much of her success from many colleagues who mentored her along the way.
The family would like to thank and recognize the great people from Meadowlakes Retirement Center in North Richland Hills, Bedford Estate's Memory Care Facility, Autumn House Residential Care, and Heart to Heart Hospice who cared for Jerrye and Hugh during their final years of their lives.
