He was born on October 20, 1935 in Troupe, Texas to Charlie Albert and Cara Josephine Pless. Jackie attended Ladonia high school where he played football and furthered his love for sports as a Ladonia Rattler. He moved to Dallas in 1958 and began working for Pfizer pharmaceuticals. On October 10, 1959 He married Mary Fouse and moved to Grapevine. Jackie coached little league pony baseball and umpired. He retired from Pfizer in 1996. Recently Jackie and Mary celebrated their 60th wedding Anniversary.
Jackie is survived by his wife Mary Pless of Grapevine, TX; 2 daughters, Lisa Pless of Bedford; and Debbie Bambard and husband Mark of Newnan, Ga.; 5 grandsons, Garrett Lawler and wife Tarah Lawler of Grapevine, Chris Lawler of Fort Worth, Richard Pless of Grapevine, and Nathaniel and Austin Bambard of Newnan, Ga. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Albert and Cara Josephine (Ham) Pless; 2 brothers, Albert and Hugh Pless and 1 Sister Syble Chesser.
The visitation will be held from 1 - 2 o’clock p.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2020 at Bethel Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will be held at 2 o’clock at the church.
