Mr. HR Sanders Jr.

HR was born on May 14, 1932, in Grapevine, Texas to Homer & Virgie Sanders. He graduated from Grapevine High School and went on to receive a Banking degree from Southwestern Graduate School of Banking. HR married Polly Childress on August 4th, 1951. Together, they shared 65 years of marriage.

He held careers in both the Banking industry as well as the Oil/Gas industry. At the beginning of his working years, HR served in the United States Navy during the time of the Korean War.

HR spent 31 years with the Republic National Bank of Dallas. After his time in the Banking industry, he worked for Devon Energy Corp in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for 20 years. HR also served on numerous Oil and Gas boards.

HR will be remembered by those who knew him for the love that he had for his family, his hard work ethic, and his generosity.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife; Polly Sanders, son; Richard Sanders, and great-grandson; Hunter Crumpton.

HR is survived by his children; Randall L. Sanders and wife, Mary, Herschel R. Sanders and wife, Anne, and Russell D. “Sam” Sanders and wife, Marva; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
