Howard C Loftin was born to Phillip and Mary Loftin on October 19th, 1939 in the small town of Atoka, Oklahoma. He had 3 siblings, brothers Phillip-Wayne and Leonard and sister Alma. He was very talkative as a child, he never held anything back and loved working on cars with his daddy and brothers. Howard worked his way through life starting with a paper route as a child, graduated from Booker T. Washington Highschool and then went on to graduate from the University of Tulsa, top in his class, and had a long successful career as a Chief Postal Inspector. His career was impressive, but what was even more impressive was the family life he built.
In 1967 in Tulsa, Oklahoma he met the love of his life, Lillie. They created a beautiful life together, as a blended family, with Howard’s daughters, Felicia and Lena and Lillie’s kids Brad and Gwennette, proving that family isn’t always defined by last names or by blood; it’s defined by commitment and by love. Howard and Lillie truly had an extraordinary life, travelling the world together and raising their children in a loving home. Their home went on to not only be a spot where their own children were raised, but their grandchildren as well. With a total of 11 grandchildren, Howard always kept himself busy with them, from cooking them what he called CAPS (Cheap Ass Pizza) to building them treehouses and go-kart tracks, and taking them fishing, he did it all.
Howard was a strong man who provided for all of his kids and grandkids, he was never one for self-pity or to over-indulge in emotion, I know if he was here right now, he would say something along the lines of “Boy you’re Full of Shit” He was truly one of a kind and will be forever missed. May you rest peacefully.
