Mrs. Gloria Ann Pederson passed away in Grapevine on June 3rd, 2017. She was called to her heavenly home at the age of 73. Gloria was born in Jackson, Mississippi to parents, Albert and Katherine Wiggins, on June 1st, 1944. She was the youngest of eight children. The whole family moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth Area when she was just five years old and, since then, she called Texas her home. She worked many years as a buyer for Monning’s Department Store, which took her to New York and Los Angeles for Broadway and various fashion shows, and enjoyed all of the experiences that her career brought her. She was later a store manager for Bealls Department Store where she made lifelong friends amongst her colleagues. Gloria was also an accomplished cook and gave out her own handwritten recipes often. She was a headstrong whirlwind who also loved the quiet comforts of her home, gardening, crafting and antiquing. She enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys play with her husband and traveling around to horse shows with her granddaughter. Gloria was a loving sister, beloved wife and caring mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by those blessed to have known her. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Gary James Pederson; children, Gregory Ellis and Randall Ellis; stepchildren, Judy Moore, Leo Pederson, John Pederson and their families; grandchildren, Kassie Ellis and Madison Ellis; siblings, Donald Wiggins and Dot Hale, and extended family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 9th, 2017, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home from 4:30pm to 8:30pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Gloria’s remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of your choice in benefit of children’s cancer research. The family would like to thank the amazing nurses and doctors at Baylor for their hard work, dedication and kindness while caring for Gloria.
