

Geraldine (Gerry) Hayen passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 25, 2024.
Gerry was the only child born to Steve and Alene Polk on July 5, 1934 in Waco, Texas.
After high school, she entered the workforce for a short time before meeting the love of her life Floyd James Hayen.
Gerry married Floyd on October 22, 1955, in Waco, Texas. Together they shared 67 years of marriage. Floyd and Gerry went on to have two sons, James Russell and John Randell.
Gerry was an incredible homemaker. She spent much of her time raising her children and managing the household with her husband Floyd. Gerry loved animals, especially cats, and was always willing to take in a stray or two. Gerry was a member of Shady Oaks Baptist Church in Hurst, Texas.
She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who was “Mimi” to her grandchildren. Gerry loved to follow her grandchildren and their activities which included dance, volleyball, basketball, football, and baseball. Gerry was a avid Baylor Bears, North Texas Mean Green, and Texas Rangers fan.
Gerry is preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Alene Polk and her husband of 67 years, Floyd.
She is survived by her loving sons, James Russell (Lesa), John Randell (Cherryl), her brother-in-law, Don Hayen and five grandchildren: Amanda, Alexis, Clay, Chase, and Cam.
Friends will gather for a visitation the evening of Friday, August 30, 2024, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home located at 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034 from 6pm-8pm.
A graveside service will take place, Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 10am in the Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
