Brenda died on January 25, 2019 at their home in Kemp, TX and Gene on July 1, 2019 in Colleyville, TX. They will always be remembered for their loving relationship that began when they met in Jr. High School in Irving TX in the 1950’s.
Brenda was born in Dallas, TX on October 6, 1939 to Charlie Lee and LB Shotwell. She was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother and Great Grandmother. A stay-at-home mom until their only son reached Highschool, she dedicated most of her time to her son’s activities. She eventually became a Para-Legal and worked for the City of Irving Courthouse and later at a Law Firm. She loved to work in her flower gardens and spend time with her grandkids.
Gene was born on November 15, 1938 in Little River, TX to Bernice and Raymond Tyler. He was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather and Great Grandfather. A loyal friend to all that knew and loved him and a hard worker to anyone that ever worked with him. Gene loved sports of all types, but after losing an eye in a work accident at an early age, dedicated himself to the art of Bass fishing. A hobby that lead to many Fishing Tournament victories and even several appearances on those weekend fishing shows. More recently he loved working in his vegetable garden and traveling with his family to the Cayman Islands. Enjoying the Beach and the beauty of the Ocean.
These Highschool sweethearts married on Valentine’s Day 1959. A marriage that lasted for 60-years. Their first home was in Irving TX, they later lived in Bedford, TX and then settled just outside Kemp, TX for the remainder of their lives. Now they are together again for all eternity in the presence of our loving God.
Brenda and Gene are survived by their only son, Gene Tyler, Jr. and daughter-in-law Shelley Tyler of Colleyville, TX. Granddaughters Lindsey Tyler of Euless, TX and Mallory Tyler of Colleyville TX. And three Great Grandchildren: Maverick Lindsey, Maddox Lindsey and Maxton Lindsey.
