Gary Wayne Carpenter, 73, passed away on the 24th of March, 2019 at his home in Fort Worth, TX. He was born on August 24, 1945 in Clayton, New Mexico to Preston and Alfreda Welling Carpenter. Gary grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. He graduated from Hall High School in Little Rock in 1963. After high school he graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and The University of Texas at Arlington in 1982 with a Masters of Business Administration.
Gary joined the United States Air Force in 1969 and served for 5 years. He was honorably discharged in 1974 as a Staff Sergeant receiving several awards for his service. Gary began work for Halliburton as a Project Manager where he worked for 30 years.
Gary married Lou Ann in 1970 in Fort Worth, TX. They were happily married for 48 years. He enjoyed wood working, Nascar, reading, listening to music, watching M.A.S.H. and John Wayne movies. He spent his spare time being of service to his family that he adored.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents. Gary is survived by his spouse Lou Ann; his daughters Keri and husband Donnie Dixon and Kristy and husband Brad Cardinal; his sisters Kay Smith, Vickie and husband Mike Trogden and sister-in-law Susan Hittle and son Jason Kendall; his grandchildren Dillon and wife Milly, Kelsi, Haylee, Logann, Karah and Zoe; his great-grandchild to be Meisha Kay; and his many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Chapel, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, TX 76034 at 3:00PM, Wednesday, March 27, 2019 with Dr. Jeff Burnett officiating. Visitation will be held at one hour prior. Interment will follow immediately after with military honors.
