Fredrick Clarence Rice Jr., was born November 17th, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois, and died March 25th, 2025 in Conroe, Texas. When Fred was just an infant his parents moved to Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become a farmer in the early days of developing land for farming in South Texas. The Great Depression hit and hard times shaped Fred's life. World War II broke out and he was too young to join the military. Fred worked in civil services until he was old enough to join the Navy. He became an aircraft sheet metal mechanic.
After the war, he met and married Mary Lou Davis, they were married 52 years until her death in 2001. They had three sons, Fred III, Richard, and Charles. Fred is survived by: Fred and Karen Rice, Conroe, Texas, Richard Rice, Montgomery, Texas, and Charles Rice, Conroe, Texas. Grandchildren: Clifford Rice, Brady Rice, Albert Rice, and Karina Rice and several great grandchildren.
A visitation for Frederick will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 COLLEYVILLE BLVD, COLLEYVILLE, TX 76034, followed by a graveside service from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM.
