Fred was born on April 15, 1940 in Dallas, Tx. to parents Frederick Ambrose and Alleen Tollison King. Fred will be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, stepfather, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Fred is survived by his wife, Barbara King of Haslet, Tx, son Jeremy Todd King (Trina)of Grand Prairie, Tx; granddaughter Autumn(Christian) Mathas of Carrollton; great granddaughter Evelyn Mae Mathas of Carrollton; and stepdaughters, Chris Goode (Dennis) of Larue, Tx, Vicki Klucking (Paul) of Haslet, Tx, Melissa Krasnan (John) of Flower Mound, Tx. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy King of Dallas Tx, Richard Tollison of Homer, Kenai Peninsula, Alaska; and his wife, Margaret Arreta Heisel King of Grand Prairie, Tx.
Fred graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1959. He went on to continue his education at UTA(Arlington State College).
Fred married Margaret Arreta Heisel on August 27,1965. They were together until Margaret’s passing in 2012. Fred married Barbara Joan Echols on May 31,2013. They remained inseparable until his death.
Anyone that knew Fred, knows that he always had to be busy. He owned a successful business manufacturing countertops and cabinets and he worked very hard on a daily basis. He was also quite the outdoorsman and loved to tell stories of his adventures when he lived in Alaska. His favorite hobby, besides watching a good Dallas Cowboys game was racing pigeons. He was a member of the Dallas Homing Pigeon Club as well as The Denton Invitational Club. Fred was an avid and very competitive pigeon racer. He either won or placed in almost every race he entered with his pigeons. Fred was also a member of the Grapevine Church of Christ, where he and Barbara would enjoy worshipping our Lord, serve and fellowship in all manners possible.
There will be a Celebration of Life to honor Fred on February 17, 2024 at 3pm. at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park 5725 Colleyville Blvd. Colleyville, Texas 76034.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations can be made to Christ’s Haven 4200 Keller-Haslet Rd. Keller, Tx 76244.
