Elmer Ray Burrier, of Elmore, Alabama , passed away on January 1, 2021 in Elmore, Alabama. He will always be remembered as a (loving father, grandfather and friend) to all that knew and loved him. He was born on January 28, 1925 in Junction, Texas to Ed Fordice and Eliza White Burrier.
After Ray served our Country in WWII he returned to Junction, Texas where he met and married the love of his life, Helen Joyce McDonald. During their marriage they resided in Junction, San Angelo, Houston and finally settled in the DFW area. Ray worked for East Texas Motor Freight (ETMF)/Arkansas Best Freight (ABF) as a diesel mechanic for 35 years. He was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish. Since he didn’t have any sons he taught his girls all about the great outdoors and created many memories they will cherish for years to come. He also tried his hand at beekeeping and sold his honey, locally, in the Keller/Grapevine/Watauga area out of the back of his beat up old Chevy truck.
Ray is survived by his two daughters, Sherry Burrier Wells & Debra Burrier Parsons. Grand Children Richard (Spery) Kennemer, Cody Parsons, Christina Parsons (significant other Robert Fitzgerald) and Rachel Carter (Chris). Great Grand Children Alexis, Kincaid, Hunter, TJ, Todd, Trinity, Brandon, Jerica, Jojo, Macey, Jevon and numerous Great-Great Grand Children. He is preceded in death by his wife Joyce and both parents.
