BEDFORD -- Doris L. Collins, 89, passed away Sunday, Aug. 16, 2014, at a Bedford hospital of natural causes. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd., Colleyville, 76034, the Rev. Dr. Michael Waco officiating. Friends are invited to share memories with the family in the Narthex at 9 a.m. Thursday, prior to the service. Mrs. Collins will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Garden of Peace in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Doris was born Sept. 18, 1924, in Hill County. She was a retired housewife. On Dec. 14, 1940, she married Ralph S. Collins. After 49 years of marriage, he preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 1989. Mrs. Collins was also preceded in death by her parents, Sally Randolph Jones Thompson and William Edward Thompson; three sisters; and three brothers. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Grady Rhodes. Survivors: Her daughters, Darlene Rhodes and Lou Smith and husband Randy Smith; six grandchildren, Craig Rhodes and wife, Leslie, Clint Rhodes and wife, Kathy, Tammy Rhoads and husband, Kevin, Eddie Wright, Debbie Parsons, and Shelly Hubbard and husband, Chris; 15 great-grandchildren, Marshall Rhodes, Blane Rhodes, Kyle Nichols, Shauna Rice, Katie Rice, Kellie Patterson, Nathan Rhodes, Danial Rhodes, Michael Undersood, Dustin Rhoads, Shasta Hernandez, Joshua Parsons, James Parson, Zander Hubbard and Lucas Hubbard; and three great-great-grandchildren, Kylee Rice, Gavin Shewmake and Ember Rhoads.
