Don was born on Sept. 15, 1932, in Wichita, Kansas, the only child of George and Margaret Wood. He graduated from East High School and soon after joined the Army. He was stationed in Fort Hood when he met his beautiful bride of 42 years, Bonnie Frisch. He was a wonderful husband and the “best dad ever” to their seven children; Michael, Lisa, Paul, Patricia, Sharon, Mary Ellen and David.

After the loss of his first wife in 1996 he found love again with Patricia Smith. They were married in 2002 and were able to spend many years traveling together. Don was a kind husband and dedicated caretaker for Pat during her final years.
