Delwin L. Nelson

He graduated from the University of Nebraska and worked for the JCPenney Company for 42 years. Delwin was an active member in his church Cathedral of Hope in Dallas, TX, and cherished his friendships there. He enjoyed many years of active volunteering at the DFW Airport, and the AIDS outreach center in Fort Worth, TX.

Delwin is preceded in death by his partner and best friend Arwin Bailey, brother, Gary, and grand daughter, Margaret Grace.

He is survived by loving daughters Nancy Nelson of Bedford, TX, Karen Rietz, son-in-law Thomas of Iowa City, IA, granddaughters Leah and Linnea Rietz, sister-in-law Jenifer Nelson, niece Stephanie Caudy, nephew Samuel Nelson of Lincoln, NE, and many friends.

Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at the Cathedral of Hope United Church of Christ 5910 Cedar Springs Rd, Dallas, TX 75235 with the Rev. Dr. Neil G. Cazares-Thomas officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to The Cathedral of Hope or a charity of your choice.
