FLOWER MOUND -- David Joseph McKenna Sr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, July 23, 2016. Funeral Mass: Noon Wednesday at St. Phillip the Apostle in Lewisville. Interment: 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with U.S. Air Force honors. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with rosary starting at 6 p.m., at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home.
David was born on Nov. 10, 1934, to Stephen and Gertrude McKenna in Lowell, Mass. He retired from the U.S. Air Force with 20 years of dedicated service. During this time, he was most proud of his service as a navigator/bombardier aboard B-47 bombers. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 1976, David was a professor of accounting at Rose State College until his retirement in 2006.... God Bless You, Dad ... and thank you!
David was greeted in heaven by his parents, Stephen and Gertrude; seven brothers and sisters.
Survivors: His wife of 53 years, Judy Hitchcock McKenna; sons, David Jr., John, and Steve; grandchildren, Matthew, Elizabeth, Madison, Taylor, Cole and Lucas; great-grandchildren, David III and Marley (coming soon).
