David Lee Krueger, 66, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015, after a yearlong struggle with his health. Service: The family will celebrate his life at 3 p.m. Friday, May 29, at Bluebonnet Hills. Interment: Dave's final resting place will be Arlington National Cemetery, where he will be interred later this year. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to charities that carry on his generous and caring legacy, ASPCA and Operation Enduring Warrior. A combat veteran of Vietnam, Beirut and the Gulf War, Dave spent 28 years in service to the United States Navy, where he rose to the rank of command master chief. A selfless warrior and inspirational leader, Dave spent his career as a hospital corpsman, saving the lives of many of the men in his charge. Dave was a loving father, grandfather, wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend. He had an engaging smile, loud infectious laugh and a voracious love of life. Although Dave never shied from a challenge, he fought like he loved -- with his whole heart. Survivors: He is survived and will be forever missed by his daughter, Lt. Cmdr. Staci K. Brown and husband, Jeffrey; son, Shaun D. Krueger; mother, Mary Ann Waldon and husband, Bob; brother, Jeff Krueger and wife, Robin; sisters, Janette Border and Julie McKinney and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Trystan and Trinity; nieces and nephews; several special friends, including Spanky, whom he cherished.
