Daniel Eric Hartz

Danny Hartz, 58, lost his battle with cancer early Thursday morning in the arms of the people he loved. There really are no words to accurately describe Danny. He was strong, confident, and compassionate with an unmatched sense of humor. He was an incredible beacon of strength, and his courage was apparent to all that knew and loved him. Danny dedicated his career to the Town of Flower Mound for over 25 years, becoming a well respected Chief Building Official and leaving an impression on everyone that knew him. He never encountered a challenge that he couldn’t solve, and he had an amazing ability to work hard and mentor others while leading by example. There is no doubt that his legacy will live on, and others will strive to demonstrate his confidence, thick skin, and limitless patience.

Danny is survived by his wife, Karen Hartz; children and step children, Erin and Nicholas Griffin, Hayden Hartz, Alyssa Hartz, Katy and Ryan Holloman, Rusty Weatherly; his grandchildren, Chelsea and Barrett Griffin, Molly Holloman, Brooklyn and Londyn Thomas. Danny is preceded by his grandchildren Cody Thomas and Tate Thomas.

The Funeral Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26th, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Chapel located at 5725 Colleyville Blvd Colleyville, TX 76034. Reception to follow at the Hartz Home.
