Cyrus “Ted” Neal Moore was born on October 16, 1923, in Desdemona, Texas, to Frank Dalton and Stella Ethel Moore. He left his earthly home December 19, 2020, at the age of 97. Ted was preceded in death by his loving wife, Chrystle June Lewis Moore of 46 years, his parents; his brothers, William Powers Moore and Kenneth Ray Moore; and his sisters, Thelma Pauline Blanton and Stella Ruth Brigham.
Survivors include his sisters, Mary Mitchamore of Hurst, Texas, Maxine Clayton and husband Ural of Oak Ridge, North Carolina, Margarette Harrell of Fort Worth, Texas and Louise Hall and husband Bill also of Fort Worth, Texas; his daughters, Sharone Allen of Seattle, Washington, Tish Hunt and husband Lynn of North Richland Hills, Texas; sons Alton Moore and wife Jan of Lexington, North Carolina, Lonnie Moore of Fate, Texas and Homer Moore and wife Rhonda of San Antonio, Texas. Grandchildren; Cindy Mullins, Michael Moore, Stacy Juetten, Candice Moore, Mark Allen, Kaci Kiser, Lynn Hunt, Jr., Ryan Moore, Lauren Lindsey. 17 Great-Grandchildren, 4 Great-Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Ted and his siblings enjoyed the country life until their family moved to the big city of Fort Worth, Texas in 1940. Prior to World War II, Ted was employed by Consolidated Aircraft as an Inspector. Ted was drafted into the US Army at the age of 18 and inducted on October 22, 1943, at the age of 21. While serving in the Philippines, Ted was Missing in Action for 2 weeks. After his platoon was found he served the remainder of his military service as a Truck Driver. In 1954, the Ted Moore family relocated to El Paso, Texas, to work with his father-in-law and manage sales and service for Trailer Manor Motor Company for several years. He then began managing Shirley Trailer Sales from 1960 to 1976. In 1976, Ted and his wife, Chrystle, briefly relocated to Eagle Pass, Texas, where he managed a family lumber yard. Following retirement, Ted and Chrystle, became home parents as foster children caretakers for Lee Moore Foster Homes in Clint, Texas which brought them joy to help the resident children for numerous years.
Ted was an active member of his church his entire lifetime serving as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and was Director of the Nursing Home Program for 10 years. His main pleasure was his family - he loved his family, family outings and family card and domino games. Lots of family fun was his favorite pastime.
