Claudia Jean (C.J.) Witten, 76, of Fort Worth, Texas went to be with our Lord on September 27th, 2023 after unexpectedly passing away from complications of dementia.
She was born on May 18th, 1947 to Thomas I Powers and Del Ragland Powers in Hutchinson, KS. They later moved to Texas. C.J was in the first graduating class of Carroll High School in Southlake, TX, graduating as Valedictorian in 1965. She then went on to attend TCJC and the University of North Texas in Denton.
C.J. started selling life insurance in 1974. She excelled at everything including insurance and was recognized as "Top Sales Lady". She met Alan "Top Sales Man" at work in Dallas and they married in Las Vegas on July 26th, 1976. They shared 47 memorable years together.
She volunteered for multiple non-profits, was a leader in her local Women's Club, PTA President for her girls schools and organized annual State Insurance Conventions, supporting and helping Alan build a multimillion dollar business.
C.J. was a perfectionist, fashionista, adventurous, strong-willed, very witty and funny. She enjoyed the lake, boating, vacations, baking, gardening, painting, competitive tennis, shopping, teaching her dogs tricks, horses, amusement parks, puzzles, movies and she loved Christmas. Most of all, she loved her family and friends.
Her canine companions were very dear to her. Ginger stays behind, but Scruffy, Hoppy, Patches and Cricket are on a long walk with her now.
C.J. is survived by her husband Alan, her daughters Kim Self (Clay) and Terri Witten-Reaves, her stepdaughter Stephanie Crawford (Tommy), stepson Robert A. Witten, her eight grandchildren Chris Kowalski, Kyla Self, Keely Self, Cole Reaves, Morgan Reaves, Lauren Reaves, Payton Fox (Daniel) and Ryan Witten, her great grandchildren Coulson Fox and Sandler Fox, nephews Kyle McPherson, Chad Witten (Jennifer), niece Tammy Kuhlman (Matt) and her brothers in law Tommy Witten (Becky) and Danny Witten.
A memorial service for Claudia will be held Friday, October 20, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034, followed by a reception from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
